Soy Milk vs. Cow’s Milk: Which is best for you? | Food Technology Congress 2018


A new study revealed the Nutritional facts of Soy milk compared to the Cow’s Milk.
Soy milk is one of the plant-based source of Protein. After Cow’s Milk the next best source of milk protein is clearly the Soy Milk. Soy Milk contains all the essential amino acids, making it a complete source of this nutrient -- just like meat, fish and dairy. You can use soy milk with cereal, in recipes as a cow's milk substitute or on its own.
Much of the soybean crop grown in U S is of Genetically Modified Crops. Consequently, some nutritional Researchers, like Dr. Mark Hyman, suggest choosing only organic soy foods and products, including soy milk.
The Nutritional benefits of soy milk are Diplomatic, in part because soy is a common food allergen. However, it is generally accepted that soy milk is a healthy alternative to cow's milk and many believe that soy milk is a Clear winner after dairy milk.
When compared to Cow's milk, soy milk is naturally low in fat. Regular-fat soy milk contains slightly fatter than 2% milk per cup, but it is naturally free from saturation. Because it is made from plant-based material instead of an animal by-product and contains no cholesterol.
A Recent study from McGill University looks at the four most-commonly consumed types of milk from plant sources around the World: almond milk, soy-based milk, and coconut milk -- and compares their nutritional values with those of cow's milk. After cow's milk, soy milk comes out a clear winner in the aspect of Nutritional values.
Researchers have added that more studies need to be done to understand the effects of various conventional and novel processing techniques on the nutritional facts, flavour and texture of these alternative milks.
